Welcome to my website! I am Andrea Wren, author of Maggie the Bee Charmer, BLESS, & ISABELLA the Belle of Ironwood. I’m so excited to have you as a visitor to my website and blog Wren’s Birdhouse which is a cozy little retreat from the mundane, where you can come and sit a spell and chat with me about my books or other books, poetry and stories you’ve read!  And even music you’ve heard, lyrics that spoke to your soul. There is power in the written word.  That is why so many books are banned today (another topic for another day)! 

Maggie the Bee Charmer was published in 2023. BLESS was recently published in December 2024, and Isabella was published in 2010.  Creative writing is my passion therefore my writing projects, whether it is historical fiction, children’s literature, poetry, my short stories (some of which I may share with you on this website) are very special to me and it is my numero uno goal to share some of that excitement with you here.

I’ll be using this blog to interact with you about Maggie the Bee Charmer, BLESS, and ISABELLA expanding on some of the topics in it and blogging on some of the ideas related to my book. If you’ve read either of the books I welcome reviews of my work as well as provide you with peeks into upcoming works to be published.  As you can probably tell I love history.  Writing from a historical perspective takes hours upon hours of research, travel, analyzing and evaluating the facts, organizing those facts, and discriminately merging it with a fictional storyline.  Not only is it a lot of work, but it is also fun. The saying “when you love what you do you do not view it as work” is true. Though I prefer “When you’re doing what you’re born to do, it isn’t work, it is passion.”

With that said, this is a great starting place for you to get to know me, and I’m looking forward to getting to know you, too.
